Hauling the fishfarm feed pipes off Tanera Beag!

Last Sunday we finally got to a job that has been on the list for several years now: hauling the fishfarm feed pipes off Tanera Beag! 👏👌 Using our amazing PionerMulti Mada Chuain and with help from some friends from Scoraig and Cal Major - Ocean Advocate and James Appleton Photography, who have also had this particular beach on their mind for some time... see their amazing film: https://player.stv.tv/summary/reelsoul-scotland-ocean-nation we managed to get 50m of pipe plus 6.5m of extra large, heavy pipe off the island at last. 👏👌 We didn't get many pics cause we were too busy hauling, but we are absolutely delighted to have finally got that clear and we are delighted to report that the following day, the Scoraig crew went out and hauled another 26m from another beach nearby.... 👏👌

Lots of time spent in the boat, sharing fantastic experiences in the sunshine with lovely people.

What a fantastic weekend! Lots of time spent in the boat, sharing fantastic experiences in the sunshine with lovely people. First up: Fiona and Ewan came out with us to watch the Ullapool Coastal Rowing Club regatta skiff racing... Absolutely delighted Ullapool Harbour's new concrete ramp, which (combined with Mada Chuain's drop down bow) makes rolling even this quite heavy mechanical chair aboard a really smooth and easy process.

Pics from a big 112kg rubbish haul this week

Pics from a big 112kg rubbish haul this week, taking in various wee marine litter sinks along the Western shoreline of Horse Island. Plenty more to gather in from that stretch, but we know exactly where to head now, and we will definitely be back with more people and a whole load of extra bags for that degrading polystyrene! Over a few hours, we brought in masses of buoys, a few pretty large items (which presented some quite interesting challenges) the ubiquitous lone welly, a drinking fountain bottle, a sad wee flip flop and a fair bit of other stuff.... We're always really grateful to Ullapool Harbour Trust for their unstinting support of this work - but their extra help and patience weighing the big items and relocating the massive octagon to Quercus (to be repurposed into play equipment) was especially appreciated this time!

Finally get some proper summer weather yesterday

Great to finally get some proper summer weather yesterday and a chance to run a couple more accessible boat trips! This time some of our younger sea savers took out family members that don't often get the chance to spend time out and about on the loch: Sophie's great granny Nona, and Hunter's Nana Shan. Some interesting life in the creels, a wee wave to the departing cruise ship and a chance to see the village from a different perspective - and in the sunshine!

Big thanks to the lovey people at Port Edgar Marina for taking them.

Confusing Beach Buoys!!! Help!

Confusing Beach Buoys!!! Help!

When we're out exploring and beach cleaning, we often find fishing buoys that we try and return to the owner if it has a name or number we can track. WillCopestakeMedia from Kayak Summer Isles was out with the kids last week and brought us a buoy to see if we could find the owner. .
