About the Campaign
Seal ambassador Abbie was worried about how to recycle the wee plastic and aluminium pods that go into coffee machines. She did some research and discovered that they can be recycled using a brilliant system call Podback, but that the nearest collection point was Inverness. She goes to Inverness most weeks for dancing lessons, so she got to thinking.... Along with her pod, she set up a collection point at Ullapool Tesco, so everyone in the village can easily drop off their pods when they do their shopping. Then the USS kids collect them, sort them, bag them and deliver them to Abbie's house so she and her parents can drop them off when they go to Inverness.
When time allows, they also empty the coffee grounds from the pods before they bag them up, in order to reduce the amount of fuel it takes to get them to the recycling plant. Those grounds go into the USS compost heap.
