Calm weather, sensible tides and a few hours of daylight meant ideal conditons for hauling in some of the rubbish washed up in the recent gales.
Amongst the usual debris, a metal water bottle made a nice change from all the plastic ones...also glad to get a few buoys back to their boats - matching them up is always a popular activity with the kids!
Also especially pleased to have hauled a very chunky (and heavy) floatation pontoon off Dun Canna beach before it could shed any more polystyrene beads - a microplastics nightmare now more safely contained. It would have been a huge challenge by land, but Mada Chuain's brilliant drop down bow mechanism made for a relatively straightforward uplift.
Today's challenge will be getting that thing back off the boat, weighed and safely disposed of....a much harder job than handing back the buoys.
