Otter News No. 109

Otters were previously unrepresented under the Scottish Government’s Species Champion scheme but Ullapool Sea Savers Poppy Lewis-Ing, who is the group’s otter ambassador, worked hard to get an otter champion and MSP Kate Forbes gladly took this on.

Joined by Ullapool Sea Savers (USS) and the Scottish Wildlife Trust we held a meeting to discuss otters and the potential threats that they face around the country. Potential threatssuch as new developments, human disturbance through tourist trips and environmental education were all discussed.
