Friday turned into to a busy day for USS

Friday turned into to a busy day for USS, helping out other local projects. After we’d finished taking Seawilding around their oyster sites, we headed to IIsle Martinto check the mink traps with SSottish Invasive Species Initiative

Able to lend a hand to the fantastic Seawilding project

Delighted to have been able to lend a hand to the fantastic Seawilding project yesterday, giving them a lift in Mada Chuain out to check their oyster sites around the loch.

SO much fun at the pool today!!

SO much fun at the pool today!!

Doing a bit of preparation for our summer snorkelling sessions with Cal Major - Ocean Advocate, supported by Caillin and Elena and just enjoying spending a time together in the water...

First creel trip of 2025!!

Not the warmest trip we’ve ever done in the boat, but still loads of fun and plenty of amazing marine creatures to examine and learn about.
Very excited to have one USS’ founders, Caillin and her friend Elena along to help out.

A cool find on remote wee beach

A cool find on remote wee beach on southern shore of Loch Broom yesterday!
A very handy looking box that is a perfect fit on deck between the seats on Mada Chuain. We've left it aboard at the pontoon for now, in case anyone can identify the original owner.

Well done to Abbie and Alisha

Alongside the bigger stories, we've always also got a load of small projects that we keep chipping way at.
Well done to Abbie and Alisha for heading out after dark in freezing rain today to get our Drain Campaign 'Please Flush Responsibly' stickers onto a few more toilets around the village, including wee visit to Heidi at Lochbroom and Ullapool Church of Scotland while she was hard at work setting up Ullapool Christmas Tree Festival 2024 and (taking it back to where it all began) a visit to Ullapool Medical Practice.
Give us a shout if you'd like some stickers!

Re-living yesterday's big assembly this evening

Re-living yesterday's big assembly this evening with some of the sea savers that didn't get a chance to participate with the live event.
Amazing to think how many schools took part (770), and how many kids (15 000+) have now seen and maybe been inspired to be a part of the Drain Campaign!

A recording of the whole assembly is available here:
Or you can catch the film alone here:
