Also some spectacular jellyfish action happening out there at the moment and great sunlit views right down into the kelp forests... The kids are getting very good at identifying potential future snorkel spots following on form their series of snorkel sessions with Cal - really lovely to see how it is all fitting together in their minds.
Day 1 of Hope the Humpback’s visit to Ullapool High School!

Day 1 of Hope the Humpback’s visit to Ullapool High School!

This incredible, life-sized inflatable whale is so big that whole groups of kids can go inside for a look about at a time. Hoping to get everyone from both Ullapool schools and Scoriag primary in for a visit by the end of tomorrow.

Another trip out last week, this time with Daphnie

Another trip out last week, this time with Daphnie, who was out with Tania and Abbie. A trip out to Rhue, then a look up lochside. Also, a close encounter with a barrel jellyfish - the largest jellyfish we get in the UK, which can be up to 45 kg.

Pics from an accessible boat trip with Sheila and Jenny on Thursday.

Pics from an accessible boat trip with Sheila and Jenny on Thursday. Barrel jellyfish, wrasse and crabs in the creels, some fairly elusive dolphin and a lot of chat.

A nice trip out in Mada-Chuain yesterday with Joseph, Nina, Emma and Lackie.

A nice trip out in Mada-Chuain yesterday with Joseph, Nina, Emma and Lackie. Got to see some seals, lift a creel and check out some crabs, and after Emma helped Janis pop ashore and collect some plastics we spotted washed up on the shore, she became the skipper and drove the boat too!

CONGRATULATIONS! To Abbie, Maisy and Callum

CONGRATULATIONS! To Abbie, Maisy and Callum for completing their Powerboat2 training yesterday!!! So proud of you three!

They were thrown some pretty challenging conditions on day 1, but they rose to meet them incredibly well, pushed through and worked really hard at building their practical skills as well as their theoretical knowledge over two day course. This was the first time we've delivered the training on our very own fabulous PionerMulti, Mada Chuain and she also rose to the occasion fabulously. What. A. Boat. 💙 It means a huge amount to us to be able to provide this training for USS' young people and we are deeply grateful to Ullapool Harbour Trust for providing the financial and practical support to make it possible. Thanks also to UHI NWH Ullapool for running the course and to Tim Hamlet for making the delivery of it such a joy.

Huge number of access trips

The last few days have allowed us to get in a huge number of access trips, remore beach cleans, and creel trips. Playing catch up with the pictures. Here's Lewis out with us a couple of days ago enjoying some time on the Loch. Thanks to Kimberley for the shout and bringing him out with us.
