A brilliant afternoon session led by the Seal Pup pod this afternoon!

A brilliant afternoon session led by the Seal Pup pod this afternoon! Welcoming two new members, showing them around USS HQ and guiding a wee litter pick. Super satisfying to get a few kilos of plastic out the undergrowth before spring growth kicks in and a great way to get to know each other and plot future sea saving shenanigans. 😁👌

Hunter, Joey and gillies took a quick spin out on mada chuain

Hunter, Joey and gillies took a quick spin out on mada chuain with Noel to check and rebait the creels yesterday. No lobsters, but an interesting variety of spineys, loads of multiple types of crabs and an oddly coloured scorpion fish…always fascinating to see what comes up.

Finally enough daylight after school on Thursday to get out and clean

Finally enough daylight after school on Thursday to get out and clean up this wee corner of the village! A bit like beaches, there's some spots where it just seems to gather - very satisfying to get it bagged up and responsibly disposed of! If anyone knows of any other problem spots around Ullapool that need attention, please let USS know.

Happy to have our first round of photos from our amazing #futureroutes

Happy to have our first round of photos from our amazing #futureroutes Sea Routes creeling project up on display down at Deli-ca-sea Fish and Chip Shop.!

Our first beach clean station empty of 2025

Our first beach clean station empty of 2025. The Dun Canna station located next to the iron-age fort north of Ullapool was initiated by the Living Seas project and has brought in a few tons of rubbish over the years.

The rest of the pics from a really brilliant wee creel trip this afternoon.

Some great peer support from hunter and gillies, introducing Ella to mada chuain and talking through all our regular survey creel species and their wee quirks….
